AUDIO & AUDACITY

Making Podcasts for iPods
Step 1 Watch This Video - TALKING HEAD
Download file "audio_pod.AVI"
Step 2 Make sure you have a microphone attached to your PC. Then Watch this Video
Download file "micro.wmv"
Step 3: Download Audacity & Lame
Audacity is another free program. You will need to download it at: \\maroon\teachers\software\audacity
There are two programs in this Audacity Folder (1) is Audacity and (2) the other is called LameFE
Please download the Audacity first and then the LameFE
Step 4: Watch this video

Step 5: You will want to SAVE your Recording as an MP3. Lame allows you to do this. BUT first you need to tell Audacity where Lame was loaded on your computer. YUCK! Well, its not really that bad..... Lame is located on the C: in Program Files and in the LameFE folder. You just need to browse to

C:\Program Files\LameFE\lame_enc.dll

AND you ONLY need to do that ONCE. Audacity will remember that setting after you point to it one time.
NOTE: When you save in MP3 Format this box pops up so that iPods can display the information while they play the audio. Take some time to fill out this information to help your students select the right MP3 file to listen to.

Step 6: Now that you have several lectures saved....then what?
Uploading MP3
