- Was born in Stillwater, Oklahama, home of the greatest college in the world, Oklahoma State University!
- Has lived in several cities in Oklahoma and Texas.
- Graduated from Nacogdoches High School.
- Attented Stephen F. Austin University (SFA), then East Texas Baptist University (ETBU), and then back to SFA.
- Played baseball at ETBU, but oddly enough did not play high school baseball.
- Graduated from SFA with degrees in Forestry and Environmental Science.
- Has four wonderful children, two of which were adopted from Ukraine.
- Is a youth soccer coach and soccer referee.
- Teaches Cub Scouts and Royal Ambassadors.
- Plays indoor soccer and softball.
- Travels to Ukraine each year for two weeks to work with orphans and do construction projects.
