    Professional Learning Calendar

To be a 21st Century Educator, there are some new skills that we must possess to provide the best learning environment for our students. The Connections Grant has provided funding to help you gain these skills. Of course, when funding is provided, there must also be documentation. The documentation that you need to provide is a Rubric for Professional Learning. You have almost total control over what is included in your rubric. We want your professional development to be as individualized as possible. Each teacher needs to create a Professional Learning Calendar (PLC) each semester of the Connections Grant.
The PLC needs to have the following minimum components for the first semester of the grant.
    (1) 3 Blog enteries which reflect the 6 compents of an Instructional Blog: http://podcast.arpisd.org/users/joy/weblog/1e247/Instructional_Blog_Content.html
    (2) 1 component of the Office 2007 suite that you need to learn better using Atomic Learning or InfoSource. Examples: "How to mail merge in Word", "How to add hotlinks in PowerPoint", "How to create formulas in Excell", etc. You may also wish to update your 21st Century Skills in Atomic Learning: "How to record audio lectures in Audacity", "How to use MovieMaker in Windows 7"
    (3) 2 Face-to-face Workshops (choose from Blog 301, Free Tools, and any workshop with a "part deux" which signifies new material) or 3 Coaching sessions with a personal mentor or SWAT team member. Blog 101 & 201 or required by the grant.
An example of a PLC is:
