Nonfiction vs Informational texts

Nonfiction texts like expository essays, biographies, autobiographies, etc... are meant to entertain as well as inform. They usually tell some type of story. Informational texts like dictionaries, newspapers, encyclopedias, etc... are usually just meant to relay information to the reader. How-to manuals are excellent examples of informational texts. They are dry and boring but serve an important purpose: to explain some type of process.
