Back To School Info

WELCOME TO 2ND GRADE

Meet the teacher night was a huge success!! We are so happy to finally meet you all. Below I have included some basic routines, rules, and some extra info your child will be practicing daily in the 2nd grade. The 2nd grade team has gotten together to create these procedures so that all students will be able to move between classes during an activity or science experiment and feel comfortable doing so. I have listed our rules, hall walking expectations, homework schedule, a behavior chart guide as well as some basic extras. I know it looks overwhelming but soon it will become second nature!!

2nd Grade Rules are as follows:

Respect others

Use kind words

Listen and follow directions

Enter and exit quietly

School rules followed

Walking down the hall:

Hands and feet to self

All eyes forward

Lips zipped

Low speed

Homework Schedule:

Monday: Spelling words will be on the weekly agenda.

Students will write sentences using the spelling words (due Wednesday) as well as study for their weekly Spelling Test on Fridays.

Below is a link to our first 6 weeks spelling words:

Box Tops

Please remember to clip your Box Tops and bring them to school. Box Tops are very important and help support our school. Students that reach 100+ points in AR for the year will earn a special field trip. We use the funds generated from Box Tops to help pay for that field trip.

IMPORTANT!

ALLERGY AWARE SCHOOL

This is to let parents know that we do have students with

peanut allergies. We are asking parents to be cautious about

sending peanut products in lunches and snacks. Also, look at labels.

It will tell you if the product was manufactured where peanuts are used.

Thank you. We know this will be a learning process for all of us.

Lastly:

We can’t tell you enough how excited we are for the upcoming school year. We have included the first week’s agenda below. Your child will also get a hard copy of this sent home in their take home folder. Can’t wait to see you all Monday!

Agenda for Aug. 27-31st agenda Aug 27-31 (3).docx

Sincerely,

Mrs. Smith, Mrs. T, Mrs. Morris, and Mrs. Calicutt
